My work explores themes of time, adolescence, and urgency through symbolic language and imagery using digital illustration. I combine figurative elements from various media with typography to examine what happens when moments or opportunities are neglected, triggering a sense of urgency in the viewer. The piece Anjeer draws from Sylvia Plath’s The Bell Jar, which uses the fig as a metaphor for opportunities and situations that deteriorate when ignored. The Urdu calligraphy reflects cycles of decay and continuity, while the English text acts as a direct confrontation with the viewer, invoking an emotional response. I aim to create work that feels both personal and cautionary, inviting viewers to reflect on the cycles they may find themselves in and the figs they are allowing to rot.
