About Camp

Summer Camp at VAM is the perfect place to explore your creativity and engage your curiosities! Campers will make art in our studios overlooking Riverwood Park, while enjoying plenty of time outdoors. Our camp team is led by First Aid and High Five Certified artist instructors whose goal is to create a fun and supportive environment each week. Join us this summer – we look forward to welcoming you to our vibrant local arts community!

Character Warehouse
(Week 1: 07/02 – 07/05 & Week 5: 07/29 – 08/02)

Open up the doors to your imagination this summer. Taking inspiration from Disney’s famous collection of characters, campers will connect colours, shapes and storylines to develop unique characters to star in drawings, paintings, prints and more!   

 

Consider it Built!
(Week 3: 07/15 – 07/19 & Week 7: 08/12 – 08/16)

If you can dream it, you can build it! Working with everyday materials, campers will put their imagination to work to invent and bring 3-D structures, toys and art sculptures to life using wire, cardboard, recycled material and plaster. 

Under the Sea
(Week 2: 07/08 – 07/12 & Week 6: 08/06 – 08/09)

Dive in to an artistic adventure beneath the shoreline this summer.  In an aquatic approach to art-making, campers will explore a coral reef, swim by jelly fish and meet mermaids using mixed media, sculpture and of course – watercolour! 

 

Animal Passport
(Week 4: 07/22 – 07/26 & Week 8: 08/19 – 08/23)

Animals have been featured in art from cave paintings to animated cartoons. Campers will encounter different animals from around the world to inspire their own wildlife gallery of drawings, paintings, prints and more. A special passport will be filled with unique animal stickers by the end of this adventurous week!

*Extended care options available from 8:00am – 9:00am and 4:30pm – 6:00pm.
