Aisling is a Mississauga-based artist and graduate of OCAD University with a deep love for painting, especially in oils, acrylics, and encaustics. With over ten years of teaching experience and a background rich in continuing education, she brings both technical precision and a warm, approachable style to her classes.
Having taken countless art classes and workshops herself, Aisling understands that the most effective learning happens in an open, relaxed environment—one where students feel supported, encouraged, and inspired. Her teaching is rooted in traditional, skill-based techniques, with a strong emphasis on foundational principles like composition, value, colour theory, and drawing.
For Aisling, painting is as much about learning to see as it is about applying paint. Helping students notice the nuance of tone, light, and form—and especially the subtle shifts in value—is, in her view, the most powerful tool she can pass on.
Her goal is to equip students with a deep, working understanding of painting as a craft, so they can confidently develop their own voice, take creative risks, and build a personal, lasting relationship with their painting practice. Above all, Aisling believes painting should be fun—a way to find joy in the visual world and connect more deeply with what we see every day.
