Nora Alkeyat is an artist & trained interior designer with a studio practice in illustration. Her work explores biomorphic geometries in nature & Islamic storytelling, with a passion for experimenting with an eclectic use of colours, patterns, technology, and thematic styles.
Nora graduated with a bachelor’s degree of Interior Design from Toronto Metropolitan University. She worked in Residential & Hospitality design and most notably as a Theme Park Designer, working for clients such as Rixos, and LEGOLAND. Nora’s art practice is strongly informed by various art history styles such as Medieval Manuscripts, Islamic Illumination, Persian Miniatures, Post-Impressionism, 1800’s Arts & Crafts movement, Art Nouveau, Biophilic design, etc. Each piece she works on tells a story, overflowing with symbolism & detail, reviving the historic ornamental traditions of Islamic arts in a modern-eclectic methodology, inviting all to immerse their souls in the mystical world of spirituality and imagination
